God has enabled me to be involved in many activities, and I am privileged to be part of this ministry team
1. For the last three months I have identified several men to disciple, some are church leaders and others will be leaders sometime soon. I have discovered that I need to be closer to God and to my wife and family to be able to give to others. One of these men is Eliseo, he continues to drink alcohol and mistreat his family. He has definitely been a challenge but I know that God will woo him back, he has confessed Jesus as his savior.
2. I have been leading a Bible study every week on Thursday, now we have about 22 people going and we just finished studying the book of James - what a book! We all learned a lot from that book and now we have started to study the gospel of Mark.
3. So far, since we started ministering here in Comitancillo, the Lord has allowed me to lead about 13 people to Him. I recognize that I have only been an instrument of His grace, but it sure is nice to see people come to know Him. I continue to pray for 3 men to come to know God, one of them is the mayor of the city and his brother.
4. God has also allowed us to help start two formal churches, I am closely walking the leaders through the Bible and so they can lead their congregations. In one of them, next Saturday 20 people will be baptized!
5. We have been able to see an increased interest for Comitancillo from our home church in Honduras and from friends in the US, these friends and brothers want to get involved with us in our ministry and we are encouraged by that.
6. I have in the coming months speaking opportunities in churches in the area, we are also ready to begin a monthly men's breakfast on Saturdays, we pray that these activities will bring glory to God when the people involved know more about Him and commit more to study His word and be good parents, workers and servants.
7. Esther (a seminary graduate) and I have been teaching at the Bible Institute and will continue to do so in this coming quarter, we have influenced about 20 students in all.
